Privacy Policy
Who we are
Invoice Maker Small Business is made by Craig Lambie ("we", "us"). For any privacy question or request, email labs@craiglambie.com.
Your invoice data stays on your device
Everything you enter in the app is stored in a database on your phone and nowhere else. That includes:
- your business details, tax number and bank or payment details
- clients and their contact details
- invoices, line items, saved items, notes and payment status
There is no account and no sign-in. The app has no server of ours to send this information to, so we never collect, receive, store, sell or share it. Uninstalling the app deletes it from your phone (keep a backup if you want it later).
Backups and exports
Backups, invoice PDFs and CSV exports are written only to a location you pick, such as a folder on your phone, or a folder provided by a service you use, like Nextcloud, Google Drive, Syncthing or your own server. Once a file is there, it is handled by that service under its own terms; we never receive a copy.
When you send an invoice, the app opens Android's share menu and the app you choose (for example your email app) sends the PDF. We are not involved in that transfer.
Android device backup: if you have turned on Android's backup (for example "Backup by Google One"), Android may include the app's data in your device backup to your Google account. That is controlled by you in Android settings and handled by Google; we can't access it.
Contacts permission
If you tap "Import from Contacts", the app asks for permission to read your contacts and copies the name, phone number and email of the contact you pick into the client form on your phone. Nothing is uploaded, and the app reads contacts only when you use this button.
Ads in the free version
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads and prevent fraud, Google's ads software in the app collects information such as:
- your device's advertising ID, device and operating system type
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- how you interact with ads (views and taps) and basic app usage needed to show ads
This is collected and used by Google under its own policies: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. It never includes your invoice, client or business data, which stays on your phone.
If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you'll be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice later. On any Android phone you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads. Paid plans remove pop-up ads (Premium) or all ads (Premium Plus).
Subscriptions
Subscriptions are bought and managed through Google Play. Google handles payment; we only receive confirmation of which plan is active, not your name, card or billing details. See the Google Privacy Policy. You can cancel any time in the Play Store under Payments & subscriptions.
What the app does not do
- No analytics or tracking of your use of the app by us.
- No crash reporting service.
- No selling or sharing of personal information.
- No location, camera or microphone access.

Analytics
We use Umami to understand how the website is used: pages viewed, referring site, browser, device type and country. Umami doesn't use cookies, and visitors aren't identified across sites. It may also record how a page is used (scrolling and clicks) so we can improve it; text you type isn't recorded.
Google Ads
We may advertise the app with Google Ads and use the Google Ads tag on this website to measure which ads bring visitors and early-access sign-ups. It sets advertising cookies only if you accept them in the banner; if you decline, no advertising cookies are set. Your choice is remembered in your browser, and you can clear it by clearing this site's data. Google's handling is described in the Google advertising policy.
Hosting
The website is delivered by bunny.net, a content delivery network, which processes standard web request information (such as IP address and browser) to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
If you email us (for example for early access), we use your email address and message only to reply and won't add you to a mailing list without asking.

Children
The app and website are for businesses and aren't directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or Australia's Privacy Act), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information and to object to some uses. Because your invoice data never reaches us, you control it directly in the app. For data held by Google (ads or Play) use Google's tools, and for anything else email labs@craiglambie.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Data in the app is protected by your phone's own security (screen lock and Android's app sandbox). Backup files aren't encrypted by the app, so keep them in a folder or service you trust.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
